I have, in the past, asked the admin what verification sources she uses, but never got any answers.

That is one of those questions that would seem to have a simple answer, but doesn't. Smiling

As far as listing accepted species names, we generally use the Catalog of Life (http://www.catalogueoflife.org...), which itself is a compilation of a number of different databases. As an example, the Catalog of Life uses the Integrated Taxonomic Information System (itis.gov) as its source of taxonomic information on North American species. ITIS, in turn, derives its information from a large number of different sources.

I would appreciate others' opinions.

Opinions on what? Confused

The ATP database oftentimes does no pull u anything, even when apparently, it is there hiding the whole time.

Like anything related to computers, it doesn't do a great job of guessing a person's intentions. Misspelling a plant name, for example, can greatly reduce the chances of the search engine finding what you are looking for.
