Marilyn, I use a variation of the Remay cloth too for those winters in CA ( I know, I know...what winters compared to where you are?). It doesn't have to be too much below the 40's for some of the tenders to die and it did drop to 28 degrees last winter here. Some of my succulents did need the covering. I believe in Tuff Love and did not want to bring stuff in. Of course I ended up bringing the 3 tiered planter inside because the amount of tender sucs that would have to be replaced in that one would be unfortunate...
