Providing a simple link with a "hey, look at Karol's newest intros!" would have probably been the wiser choice of course. As mentioned, there are many new announcement threads, daylily people get excited to see the newest intros from their favorite hybridizers and then discussions follow with wish lists and the merits of this and that cultivar.
