Cheryl, If you want to start seeds, I've found it more economical to use heat mats and domed trays than trying to raise the temp. After germ. slowly add air (vent the domes) to harden them, just as if you were setting plants out. After transplant you may want to increase the temp. a bit for 3-4 nights to help them along, then slowly return to reg. overnight temps.
