Good to see everyone finally seeing spring even back East! I just came in from crossing Pacific Coast Native irises as i have a couple amazing seedlings.

Mark I did get a few seedlings up from Emerald Spring X the 'Yellow green Form' but they are being a bit slow to take off so i haven't rowed them out yet. However even as babies they are showing some bright colors, whereas most of the semp babies are still boring grass green. The heuffeliis are so vigorous as seedlings I'm a bit surprised the rollers aren't going crazy too. Of course they may go crazy after being rowed out. I haven't done a roller cross since the 70's as Helen said "they don't sell". Also they certainly don't bloom as often as the other semps here. That was my first bloom on any of them and I have been here 4+ years now. They bloomed more often in MS it seemed. The crpss was aimed at getting a combo of yellow color and the larger size and form of 'Emerald Spring' all in one plant. Fingers crossed.

Kevin
