I hold them over winter on the (enclosed, unheated) porch, starting with August/September cuttings in small pots. By February I'm taking cuttings for the coleus I use to edge the Bluestone Walk and by late May they have to leave the house so I can find my sanity. They only get water when they are newly potted. During winter I water very infrequently and they're in very sunny windows. I've lost too many in the past due to too much water. When they begin to droop, I water.
