Beverly, I'm not sure but I think the beetle was pushing the ball to its nest maybe.. it disappeared into the leaf matter. It was funny to watch as it rolled the ball with its back legs and would get on top of the ball, it was moving pretty fast. Reminded me of a circus act, you know with the circus music. Hilarious!

Also want to mention about beetles in general, most people don't think of beetles as pollinators but they are actually responsible for the majority of pollination. I was thinking about that when I saw the Delta Flower Scarab beetle, since I always see them on flowers.

Here's an interesting article that says beetles are responsible for 88% of pollinating 240,000 flowering plants!
