I feel like I'm wasting good materials every time I prune roses at the local Botanical garden.
I've tried rooting them, using several different methods i found on here, but so far nothing worked. It wasn;t the method that failed, it was me. I don't have time to water my houseplants, much less check on baby plants, but that doesn't seem to stop me from starting new projects.
The roses that came today from Palatine have super long roots, so I'll be digging deeeeep holes tomorrow. I've been buying bags of topsoil and compost to pile over the base to protect them. The weather is changing this weekend, temps will go down to 20s at night, so I don't think these will be tempted to break dormancy.
I'll lay them out tomorrow to take a picture for you all!
We did get 2" of rain this week, nothing like what people south of us got, but appreciated none the less. Digging today was easy....managed to plant 4 shrubs and a gazillion bulbs. I kind of overdid it when Lowes put the bulbs at 75% off and I got a clerk who couldn't do math and marked them all to $1. I kept telling him the amount but he didn't want to wait for a manager to change the prices. I filled a cart and my punishment is now I have to plant every last one of them. Sticking tongue out Almost there...and my physical therapist can't figure out why I am not getting any better. Sticking tongue out
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.
