A week ago, our daughter and her family finally found a place of their own. It was a long two years living with us, their two large dogs had to be separated from the planted garden so they wouldn't tear it up. We came to hate the orange fencing, it ruined our view. This shot was after I gleefully began to tear it down. Now I can continue planting and working on getting the rest of my potted plants into the ground.
I have posted a few shots in a couple of forums as blooms appeared, but wanted to update with color here. I just love spring and when it starts here, I can hardly wait to get outside in the morning. This new garden just amazes me how fast everything has matured! As the iris and roses start to bloom, taking pictures helps me focus what works well together and what will need moving. I did many shots in the early evening and on an overcast morning so most colors are deeper.
The garden started with iris, I added so many new ones since moving here and I am loving how they are clumping up and adding great pops of color. They are so photogenic! Blue iris 'City Lights' is growing in front of Euphorbia 'Tasmanian Tiger', and along with yellow iris 'Bayberry Candle' and next to 'Molineux' rose. I always love a yellow/ blue color scheme!
The deep violet blue iris is 'Paul Black', a stunner with a bright pop of orange in the beard. It's between Abutilon 'Paisley' and a dark phorium.
Can you tell I like the deep exotic colors?! Not too much is pink or pastel here.
Summer Song did not get pruned in winter so is quite tall and gangly, it will get trimmed back once those bright gorgeous blooms finish their first flush.
Large beautiful blooms on Helen Hayes
And the Autumn Sunset rose planted less than 2 years ago in the raised beds has really settled in.
Love sitting on the patio and 7 week old Lynden does too. ♥♥♥
