We went antique shopping yesterday and came home with a kitten.
He had been abandoned at the store and they can't have inside animals
He kept getting inside and followed us all through the store making sure we understood HE was what we were looking for
Oscar McMew
Oscar because he has a thing for our trash can
McMew is how he introduced himself while following us around
Today he discovered the fish bowl and it kept him occupied for a long time.
It has been a rush to kitten proof things around here we haven't had a kitten for 10+years
He is very lovable and seems to be pleased to have us as family
My blogs have become few after the shutdown of Cubits
I have been posting a photo Journal of sorts in the Cottage garden forum here.
My gardens are doing well considering we had a 3 week drought and high temperatures May into June
still considered drought here but not in the ''sever'' after the 2'' fresh rain over the weekend.
Lots of flowers
the pollinator pasture was full of Canadian thistles this year and had to hand pull almost an acre
four chest high piles
the flowers fulfilling their purpose
Most all the perennials survived , but I did not get annuals planted this spring due to the weather
think I will scatter some fall seeds and see
AND
we pulled our first honey from the bees
This month has been warmer than any February I can remember . We have had several days in the 50's and a couple in the 60's .Things normally under snow are sprouting.
In fact we have had no snow at all this month .
It was 52 on the 5th and 56 on the 14th and 19th
Removed the winter bee cover on the 12th
Feb.22 we had an all day rain that totaled over 3 inches
The bees have been out and I have started feeding them , not much out there to eat.
I did see some snowdrops blooming last week and my first crocus today
Today's blooms
two crocus
( prettyWeeds) Veronica

columbine
daffodils , some have heads showing
and oriental poppies
