The Green Pages: FURTHER ALONG THE GARDEN PATH by Ann Lovejoy (Printed Media, Books, Magazines)

This book has been part of my library since it was published in 1995... and I'm pretty sure it has been referenced more than once in each of those years. There is just an amazing amount of good information in this book.
She has a chapter for each month of the year... and she approaches each month in an interesting way. Instead of trying to offer an overview of all issues relevant to a given month, she picks 4-6 specific topics and examines them in very good detail.
February, for instance, has an essay on Hellebores... May has a sub-chapter on Peonies for small gardens... July contains an excellent essay titled "Water Wisdom"... and September discusses unique perennials for late summer impact.
Her very conversational writing style is complimented by the photographs taken by Mark Lovejoy... he pays a lot of attention to close-ups of plants in combination that will give the reader lots of ideas.
