Ordering, communication, shipping, germination rates, everything was so positive about my first order from Nikitovka! I found this Ukranian company while looking for parthenocarpic cucumber varieties, and I was blown away by just how many varieties they had. I even found a couple of favorites (like 'Biker Billy' jalapeno seeds) that I hadn't been able to find in the US.

Nikitovka Seeds has a really nice selection of vegetable, ornamental and herb seeds at very good prices. I saw 2 favorable reviews here, and thought I'd place an order.

The English-language web site was well-designed and very easy to use. I enjoyed seeing some new (to me, anyway) varieties...so many different kinds of parsley, for example.

I placed my order March 3rd & it arrived today, 20 days later. Pretty impressive turn-around time—especially from a war-torn country...

Obviously, it's too early to know anything about germination rates, but I'm pleased with the whole experience—the ease of purchase, the low prices, the wide selection, the quicker-than-expected (and free!) shipping, the packaging, the quantity of seeds and the useful growing instructions.

I wish I had the sunny conditions for growing some of the many veggie seeds they have listed, but I did get 5 different kinds of parsley, which I like to cook with, but also let grow and flower for pollinators—plants in the parsley family are larval hosts for Black Swallowtail butterflies.

Nikitovka has been a good seed source for me.
It does take time for the orders to come….6 weeks for the first.
But only a month for my order placed mid December.
They are generous with vegetable seeds.
My interest is the seeds for large frilly petunias.
They offer separate colours of these.
There are only a few pellets of petunias per pkg ,but they are carefully packed in plastic vials.
They also have an option where you can buy a bundle of seeds for a Ukrainian family. And help a Gardener in a war torn country.

Positive review.

I've ordered from Nikitovka a few times since 2021; my latest order of Nikitovka arrived from Irpin, Ukraine today (January 9 2023) to Upper Peninsula, Michigan [zone 5a], US (took about 4 weeks).

I like Nikitovka's good selection, Euro; old; & odd varieties, non-GMO declaration, easy to use & accurate website (showing what;'s in stock) & reasonable shipping.

My order this time included a bunch of alpine strawberry seeds - a good variety they have - along with vegetables & a few flower seeds.

Their tomatoes have been great, lettuce too, and their sorrel is also great (for a few I can think of in January)!

I've never done it, but they also have info how to fill out a free US APHIS form & a link to it to ensure USPS/APHIS don't seize the seeds (hasn't happened yet, but I really ought to do the form so I don't worry next time!)

They reply promptly to communication too (in English or other) - even from exile when their town was being attacked & looted by out of control invaders. The Ukrainians kicked the invaders out & Nikitovka started right back up!

It is a testament to Ukrainians that they carry on as normal much as they can under the putinist invasion, also that they have companies like Nikitovka.

Sisu!

So I suggest anyone looking for unusual seeds at a great price to consider ordering from Nikitovka to show that you care.

I was wondering if my order would make it this time because of the ongoing attacks against everything & everyone in Ukraine - but even if the fascists bombed the mail train with a north korean shell, a russian missile, or iranian drone, I figured it was worth the $30 to prove that the sane world will to try to live as normally as possible despite those who want only destruction and madness.

Disclaimer: I traveled, studied, & lived in Ukraine [russia & belarus also] many times 1992-2004. russians & belarusians are, or were before their war, also good gardeners & horticulturists - and I /greatly/ prefer that activity to invading their neighbors. Make gardens not wars.

Viva Ukraine, viva culture & love!
