The Green Pages: ANNUALS FOR CONNOISSEURS (Printed Media, Books, Magazines)

Once the growing season starts in my garden I get so wrapped up in bulbs and hellebores and emerging ferns and swelling buds on potted peonies that I give scant attention to annuals and the contribution they can make to a garden. So a couple of years ago I ran across this book and decided to broaden my horizons.
I like this book because Mr. Winterrowd spent half of the book introducing
not-commonly-known or used plants... and then he spends half the book teaching the techniques needed to succeed with these plants. Not your usual "annuals for your garden" book... thank goodness.
He'll introduce you to Prickly Poppy [Argemone], the different species of Moonflowers [Datura], the strange beauty oof Sea Holly [Eryngium] and the "unending sequence" of blooms on Lavatera.
A wealth of good info is available in this slim volume.
