Superb in mass plantings, it spreads 4-5" a year, forming a thick 8" high groundcover that holds its own against weeds. It bears sprays of pale yellow flowers with spurs nearly equal in length to the inner-sepals produced above spring leaflets veined in red. 10" in bloom. Particularly drought-tolerant. Semi-evergreen.
