April 1, 2011 - September 3, 2015: Obtained plant (Amazing plant comes back stronger each year, would of bought all from the garden center if I had known what I was in for. They have not had it since.
I cover it with a thick layer of leaves and it is one of the first things up in the spring before cannas and musa basjoo.
Takes about three leaves to gain full size and is at maximum for the whole season after two months of growing. Of which the majority of time taken over eight weeks is the coolest duration after breaking dormancy, and then attains full size by the time day temps are averaging 70degrees.
Blooms twice in zone 7 early May and again in the fall when day/night length is about 12/12
Easy to transplant does not care.
Japanese beetles like it not as much as rhubarb.
Does not tolerate poor sites.
Beautiful leaves barely like full sun unless ample companion plants and water are available.)
