[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Accentuate the Green') | Posted on October 31, 2023 ]

Diamond-dusted, lily-like little beauty, Accentuate the Green reblooms on taller scapes here in 7a. With nutrients and moisture, the rebloom exceeds the initial display. Established clumps put out a light third round of scapes, which is handy if one is using the (fertile) pollen. Very pod fertile, too. Thank you, Tina!

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Concrete Blonde') | Posted on October 31, 2023 ]

Concrete Blonde reblooms here in 7a, with huge, substantial blooms on strong scapes.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Smoky Mountain Bell') | Posted on September 14, 2023 ]

This daylily has been continuously blooming from late May through September this year, and the rebloom scapes keep getting taller and more branched. It looks like it will try to go until frost. In its third summer here. It got planted with compost as amendment in the beginning, but got no fertilizing at all this year. Very impressive performance! Opens early and beautifully in interesting shades of pink and peach, depending. Sometime blooms are bigger (early season and good rain?), sometimes smaller (late season bud-building in the absence of good moisture)... but always gorgeous.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Pink Playmate') | Posted on August 12, 2023 ]

This cultivar is mid to late, and puts on a very good rebloom performance, when there is not much else blooming. Scapes show excellent wide branching. Is petite, so good for the front of the border. Very pod fertile and needs de-podding as the season progresses.

I wish this one had more enduring substance, but it's diamond-dusted, and has a strong rebloom.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Lemon Persuasion') | Posted on August 5, 2023 ]

This cultivar has incredibly strong scapes, and reblooms here in 7a. It is not an early morning opener, but is worth the wait, with its pleasantly multi-hued lemony business.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Memphis') | Posted on July 26, 2023 ]

Memphis made it unscathed through this past winter ('22/'23) in established in-ground clumps. Nights got down to 5 degrees several times, with temperature yo-yo-ing that wiped out half of the potted material here in 7a. This cultivar may be evergreen, but she shows she can handle some gnarly chill. (I'm going with a female pronoun because of the blush pink and frills, but you can roll however you wish.) Since I got her from 5a in Indiana, I suspected she could tolerate cold. Blooming later than most varieties, her scapes are somewhat protected from late spring freezes. She's prettiest when the temps are warm, perhaps, in part, because she takes a little while to open fully on cool mornings. However, growing Memphis above the rust-belt means less worry about her rust susceptibility.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Zazu Pitts') | Posted on July 5, 2023 ]

Zazu Pitts usually reblooms here in 7a.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Natural Delight') | Posted on June 23, 2023 ]

This cultivar is always larger than the registered size here in 7a- massive blooms, often around 9"! Occasionally (but not often) throws up a rebloom scape, too.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'I'm in Love') | Posted on June 12, 2023 ]

The blooms on this cultivar have a wonderful habit of closing up neatly and as tightly as a bud when they are finished. I wish all daylilies had this self-grooming trait!

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'This Magic Moment') | Posted on June 5, 2023 ]

This cultivar is astonishingly fragrant! Especially in the evening, it emits a level of fragrance that has one sniffing around trying to figure out who's doing laundry, and wanting to find out which floral fabric softener is being used so one can add it to the shopping list. Wonderful!

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Wanda Evans') | Posted on October 7, 2022 ]

Shows some rebloom here in 7a.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Bob Marley') | Posted on October 7, 2022 ]

Bob Marley rebloomed here in 7a, with about half the scape density as the first round of bloom. With all the branching and bud-building, that still means a good show!

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Warm in Winter') | Posted on August 8, 2022 ]

Often opens with splotchy coloring and is highly susceptible to rust.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Just a Mirage') | Posted on July 28, 2022 ]

Just a Mirage reblooms lightly here in 7a. This year it has a heavy late rebloom, perhaps because the plant was moved last year and has finally settled in.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Love in a Vacuum') | Posted on July 19, 2022 ]

Didn't rebloom the first year as a DF from the north, but in its second year it is showing strong almost-instant rebloom here in 7a. Yay! Love the color, and more is better.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Angel on a Cloud') | Posted on July 16, 2022 ]

This beauty is on its third set of scapes. Last year it was once of the first to bloom thanks to Northern Lights' greenhouse growing and was only stopped by frost in October. Impressive!

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Ripple Effect') | Posted on July 16, 2022 ]

Instant rebloom scapes extend the season here in 7a.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Cimarron Rose') | Posted on July 16, 2022 ]

Reliable rebloom here in 7a on scapes that are often better-branched than the first round.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Candy Cane Train') | Posted on July 16, 2022 ]

I'm happy that Candy Cane Train shows strong almost-instant rebloom here in 7a.
