The easiest method of propagation of this plant is by division of the tubers, which are about the size of an unhulled peanut.

In my climate, it can be quite invasive, so you may want to grow it in a pot until you see how quickly it can spread. Any portion of the tuber left in the ground will grow new plants.

This vine apparently propagates very easily from cuttings. I took a small snippet from a garden where I found it covering a long, low wall and had no trouble getting the cutting to root. It grows very quickly within a growing season or two and can cover a large area.
