[ Orchid (Dendrobium bigibbum) | Posted on June 24, 2015 ]

My plant is Dendrobium bigibbum var compactum.

[ Orchid (Lepanthopsis astrophora) | Posted on April 30, 2015 ]

I should mention that this plant is a true miniature Orchid and the clonal name of the one I posted is 'Stalky'.

[ Orchid (Bulbophyllum patens) | Posted on April 17, 2015 ]

The blooms on Bulbophyllum patens are interestingly scented. Imagine fire-roasted Raspberries.

[ Hay-Scented Orchid (Coelogyne glumacea) | Posted on June 13, 2014 ]

Dendrochilum glumaceum is commonly referred to as the Hay-scented Orchid. This description is incorrect, however, because the pendant blooms are strongly Anise scented.
If you are looking for a truly Hay-scented Orchid, Dendrochilum magnum will fit the bill. Smelling the pretty blooms, you will think you are standing in a sunny meadow right after the grass has been cut.

[ Veldt Grape (Cissus quadrangularis) | Posted on September 5, 2013 ]

I grow this plant from the middle of September to the middle of May in my (glass-roofed) greenhouse (and/or sunroom). Minimum temperature in the greenhouse is set to 65 degr F, maximum set to 70 degr. but will be higher on sunny winter days. This plant spends the summers outside in NJ zone 6b.
It is a fast grower and small pieces root readily.
