[ Globe Artichoke (Cynara scolymus 'Green Globe') | Posted on February 17, 2018 ]

We had the privilege of growing this "Show Stopper" in our front yard for several years. We always let a few bloom, but removed most to eat! One year we were out of state during the blooming season. Sad to say, all bloomed. That is a Death message to the plant. We lost it that year. It was 6 feet high and about 8-10 feet in diameter. Be sure to allow ample room for growth! It literally stopped traffic on our busy street!

[ Irises (Iris) | Posted on February 17, 2018 ]

I love Irises, but my favorite is the Tall Bearded Iris. It is tall enough to be used in the back of a flower garden. It also has such a variety of colors, you will never tire of them.In our zone 8, they do best if divided during August. I love trading and sharing. This plant just continues to enlarge your garden with such beautiful flowers! They make professional looking bouquets and are long-lasting. I heartily recommend them!
