[ Lily (Lilium 'Black Charm') | Posted on October 1, 2019 ]

Note the prominent black leaf tips, helpful in ID of the plant

[ Dahlia 'Jomanda' | Posted on March 15, 2019 ]

Dahlia Jomanda- Today at the Lindisfarne Dahlia Show, I noted 5 variances in the shade & colour

[ Lily (Lilium 'White Tiger') | Posted on November 1, 2017 ]

I have the White Tiger Lily.. It flowered from seed many years ago (very nice).I nearly lost all of it & saved 1small bulb of it last year..Cant wait for it to flower again & get a pic..

[ Lily (Lilium 'Rexona') | Posted on February 1, 2015 ]

Quite a large, quality bloom . Fresh flowers are showing masses of green up through the nectary furrows.

[ Oriental Lily (Lilium 'Muscadet') | Posted on February 1, 2015 ]

A leading "Show Class" lilium. Definitely a champion bloom If you are lucky enough to have it in time for a show. The one in my photo is 3 weeks late, but absolutely the best I've grown and HUGE. The bulb was sent in a bulk order by TESSELAAR Australia....as 'Gold City'... HMMMMM!

[ Lily (Lilium 'Little Kiss') | Posted on January 3, 2015 ]

Far from a "dwarf." Blooms are about 1-1/2 " diameter (and very cute), but stem is 2 -1/2 to 3 feet tall. Very nice pastel pink flower.

[ Small Cupped Daffodil (Narcissus 'Snow Goblin') | Posted on September 17, 2014 ]

An absolutely beautiful, small, cupped Div 3. The bloom looks like snow. Did very well at recent Claremont Show. Definitely one to add to my wish list

[ Double Daffodil (Narcissus 'Brindabella') | Posted on September 11, 2014 ]

Jacksons Daffodils blood line - named after the famous Sydney/Hobart yacht race winner 'Brindabella'

[ Daffodil (Narcissus 'Tete-a-Tete') | Posted on August 28, 2014 ]

The meaning of 'Tete a Tete' is "head to head." When I spoke with Rod Barwick today about a freak double-headed 'Tete A Tete,' he said: ''Perfect. Snip it off and put it in the Claremont Show.'' After looking at its parent, 'Cyclataz,' on this site, all becomes clear: It's supposed to have 2 heads.

[ Cyclamineus Daffodil (Narcissus 'Rowitta') | Posted on August 28, 2014 ]

Narcissus 'Rowitta' is a high-class narcissus. If I may be so bold as to express my own opinion (+ that of 20 other members), I must say that it has defined excellent beauty. Rowitta won "best in show" last night in a smaller garden club show. Will post a pic soon.

[ Bulbocodium Daffodil (Narcissus 'Smarple') | Posted on August 22, 2014 ]

A smaller Div 10 miniature, one that Rod Barwick describes as a ''beautiful little thing." Fresh blooms adopt a yellowish/green tinge, quickly turning to white on full bloom. Named after investigator "Miss Marple." Well timed and quality show daffodil

[ Cyclamineus Daffodil (Narcissus 'Voodoo') | Posted on August 22, 2014 ]

There is something that drives you when you hear the name "Voodoo''! After seeing it on the show benches year after year, winning prizes, I put it in my ''must have'' box! This year, I managed to purchase 3 from Jackson's. Beautiful!

[ Cyclamineus Daffodil (Narcissus 'Papa Snoz') | Posted on August 18, 2014 ]

Incredible bloom, way too big for the stem and they tend to bend downward. The bloom is about 2 1/2 times the size of n . cyclamineus, which must be borderline for ADS miniatures. Very streamlined back in the petals and holds its rich colour for a good 2 weeks. Excellent Keira breeding

[ Large Cup Daffodil (Narcissus 'Moneymaker') | Posted on August 16, 2014 ]

An easily recognised older Trumpet. I love the way that the intense yellow 'leaches' out into the lower stages of the white petals. This example is nearly 2 ft tall

[ Dahlia 'Winkie Whopper' | Posted on March 15, 2014 ]

Winkie Whopper is the absolute "Blue Whale" of Dahlias. It is huge. The one in my photo won "largest Dahlia" in the Hobart Dahlia Show, measuring 11 3/4 inches across the face

[ Lily (Lilium 'Tall Boy') | Posted on January 27, 2014 ]

A lily very similar to L. henryi, slightly lighter in colour and much taller (about 6ft). Joe Hoell crossed L. henryi with an oriental called 'Valley Sundust.' Early healthy stems were known to reach 8ft and to carry as many as 30 flowers. Was used in the breeding of 'Golden Beauty' by Joe Hoell.

[ Lily (Lilium 'Odessa') | Posted on January 25, 2014 ]

A massive (8" bloom) oriental lily that oozes from the petals and very extrusive pinky/red papillae. Emits a massive amount of scent. Blooms are way too heavy for the stem.. 'I really like it'

[ Lily (Lilium Harlequin) | Posted on December 20, 2013 ]

According to the book "Lilies," by Jefferson- Brown and Howland: "The Harlequin Strain is reported to have been bred by De Graff by mating L. cernuum with mid century kinds. They were marketed as a mixed range with blush pink, rose, cream, yellow, orange, and red represented. They do have narrower foliage, but are more vigorous than L. cernuum. They faced outwards and some are still marketed today, more than fifty years after introduction, a fair testimony to their vigour,'' but later the quote is contradicted on page 112 as downfacing.

[ Asiatic lily (Lilium 'Lowana') | Posted on October 6, 2013 ]

I had some serious concerns about what appeared to be a non-arrival of a 'Lowana' stem (in comparison with the growth of most of the other 'Harlequin' type hybrids, which mostly were already 6 inches tall). In readying the pot for emptying, I noted a stem travelling from one side to the other (roughly 9 inches across the pot) 6 inches under the soil. After I quickly re-covered the stem with fresh soil, 1 week later, it has now nosed through. Phew!!

[ Jonquilla Daffodil (Narcissus 'Kokopelli') | Posted on September 15, 2013 ]

This Daffodil is no longer classed as a miniature and is now classified by 'ADF' as an intermediate!
