[ Lily of the Nile (Agapanthus 'Lilliput') | Posted on February 3, 2017 ]

Probably the best Agapanthus availabe on the market.
Very rapid grower- a single plant can be divided into hunderds within 3 years. Moreover, it flowers like crazy (10 flower stalks on a single, one year old plant, are not uncommon), takes light frost like a champ, and stays evergreen in warmer climates.
May flower for 3-5 months, from late winter to midsummer, in zone 10.

Lovely plant. If it is being grown in a container, I would recomend cutting it to the ground in May (in my 9b-10a zone) to enjoy compact flowering on new, good looking, leaves.
The flowers smell WONDERFUL (a bit like grape juice) and the smell lasts for days even with cut flowers!
