[ Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) | Posted on October 30, 2013 ]

This is such a wonderful tree! It does well inside in a container by west-facing window, but in zone 5a I doubt it will ever flower. Still, I love the scent of it! Just like being in the woods again. From what I've read, stems are not viable for rooting, but if it ever flowers and seeds, I will have them for trade. This tree is 4 years old and I will probably do distilling of the leaves sometime this spring for tea tree oil.

[ Garlic (Allium sativum 'German White') | Posted on August 22, 2012 ]

This turned out to be the best garlic I have ever tasted. The white cloves are enormous in size and only get 4-5 cloves per bulb but the flavor is the strongest with a very nice and long lasting garlic aftertaste. Will be trying to grow more of these in the future, not sure about storage life, haven't been able to keep it long enough to find out. Makes the best garlic butter and anything you want a nice stronger garlic taste with.
Have read that Zemo, German Extra Hardy, Northern White and German Stiffneck are the same, aka German White but the ones I have grown (German Hardneck) has a redish purple stripe through it and not sure if it is possible that they have cross pollinated or this is a totally different variety. Have not tried tasting it yet.
