Gold / orange / tangerine fruit color.
Very sweet, intense, fruity "tropical" flavor when fully ripe.
More tart just before fully ripe.
Large sprawling vine but will grow in a large container.
Somewhat cool-tolerant. Quite early, but keeps bearing all summer.

I have grown Sungold tomatoes for several seasons in my zone 8a north Georgia garden. These are dependably some of the earliest cherry tomatoes I harvest. The flavor is delicious and the yield is good early in the season. As the heat and humidity and summer rains hit, this tomato succumbs to splitting and disease pressures.

Mmmmmm! These are to die for. I need to grow at least three plants of these for them to make it into the house. During peak harvest, it is inevitable to get a canker sore from eating so many of these delectable fruits.

Produces huge numbers of tomatoes per plant. Helps a lot to have these staked or caged, as they sprawl quite a bit. Taste is unlike any other tomato, with a strong 'tropical' flavor.

This is a very robust and sprawling plant (too much so for me), with good yield. I found the fruit to be more acidic and less sweet than Sun Sugar (a similar orange cherry hybrid), and also prone to cracking.

Sungold cracks very easily, helping it reseed like a weed year after year. This is the only tomato that pops up in late spring and matures quickly enough that I actually get to harvest fruit in August. All others I start indoors. Long tassels of delicious tomatoes grow on huge disease-free plants. It's impossible to pick them all. Effortless gardening with no problems common to tomatoes in the PNW. I don't cage them, I don't even water them. They seem to grow true from seed, it's been three years and so far they're the same Sungold I first planted.

Sungold makes small cherry tomatoes in various sizes. Sometimes the fruit gets truly small due to the stress of the end of summer. Regardless of size, Sungold tastes really good. It is very prone to cracking, especially if you leave the tomatoes to fully ripen on the vine.
