    This bamboo supposedly doesn't do well in hot climate areas, but I've seen huge groves of it in a neighboring city. The drought has taken a toll on most of those groves, but mine has been doing pretty well. I've had it for three years and it's slowly starting to run. I get new shoots in spring and then a few more in fall.
