This dwarf cultivar has been sold since the 1990's. It is similar to the popular cultivar of 'Hameln' but has slightly wider blades that can be tipped with some reddish color. The flower inflorescences are stubby, giving it a more unusual appearance than other cultivars. I may have seen it a few times without really recognizing it as a specific cultivar. A small number of nurseries offer it. Limerock Ornamental Grasses Inc. that was a family-owned business and was a big grower of a large selection of grasses in Port Matilda, Pennsylvania. used to offer it for sale in its catalogue. I first bought some of their grasses by mail when I was in my native Illinois in the 1990's.
