I have this gorgeous double, deep-blue flowered vine in south Louisiana. It is perennial here, although I do cut it back to 12" after a freeze and by April it takes off again. I also freely prune it a couple of times each summer to make it bushier for more flower production. It also produces an abundance of seeds for sharing. There is one with a single flower, too, but I've never grown it. This one is so spectacular, it's the best!
It likes morning sun, then only filtered afternoon sun. It needs to be kept moist by regular watering. I have propagated it by rooting cuttings made at a joint and kept in moist soil. I highly recommend it as a beautiful flowering vine that blooms almost year round in zone 9.
