My biggest customer in southeast Pennsylvania planted one probably about 2003 as a small plant in part-shade. It kept slowly growing until in 2017 to 2020 it is about 6 feet high and wider and not so little. Its foliage is brighter yellow in spring than later in summer or fall. I have not seen it turn red in the fall in this location; maybe too much shade. I do spray it with Liquid Fence because I have seen the deer eat it down twice without spray, not that they are always anxious for it.

Hydrangea quercifolia 'Little Honey' is a unique Oak Leaf Hydrangea with golden chartreuse colored leaves. It is a branch sport of Hydrangea quercifolia 'Pee Wee'. It was discovered and patented (PP15477, 2005) by David Jarzynka of Olympia, WA. Although it will tolerate some sun, it's best in partial of filtered shade. Red autumn foliage.
