This is a very old and popular Viola. 'King Henry' blooms fall through spring in warm climates. It will overwinter in climates as cold as zone 4. The flowers are edible.
This plant likes normal garden soil and being well-watered but not soggy. Plant in early spring a couple of weeks before last average frost date. In warm climates, plant in late summer for fall and winter blooms.
