In the winter, this plant grows shorter tighter leaves, with reddish tips. During the summer, this plant has longer wider leaves, and the rosette becomes less tight. Make sure to clear the dead leaves as this plant grows, as they are a great hiding place for pests. It is susceptible to mealy bugs. If mealy bugs are treated with alcohol, this will damage the plant's farina. This plant eventually forms large clumps, and offsets readily.
