If one really knows the Deciduous Azaleas and sees them in their native habitat in either North America or Asia, one can identify them. However, if one visits an arboretum it is not so easy because such places grow the hybrid species with cultivars. There is such a huge multitude of hybrids with various cultivars that it takes a real expert and azalea enthusiast to know them. I am not one of those, especially growing up as a Midwesterner of the US. This lovely, high quality shrub had a good label at Jenkins Arboretum.
