Tidal Waves are huge plants and grow well in large containers or in ground. Form a hedge. The closer (min 12") planted apart the taller the plants. Tidal Waves will grow up a trellis too. A 3' or 4' trellis works great. They also make the most dense ground cover of all the Wave family petunias

This plant is vigorous to the point of being weedy. It will smother other plants in a mixed container. The germination rate for me was very impressive at 100%. It is quite cold tolerant, having survived a week so far of sustained night temperatures in the mid twenties. I also grew the yellow version of this series, and can report that it did not perform nearly as well. It does seem to be as cold tolerant, but the germination rate was extremely poor. The plants stayed much smaller as well.

Tidal Wave Silver petunia was a 2002 AAS and Fleuroselect Quality Mark winner. Very easy to grow from seed, and it wintersows well. It is a huge spreading plant and vigorous bloomer. If it becomes leggy it can be trimmed by by up to half and it grows back and blooms better than before.
