Paeonia officinalis 'Rubra Plena' (Origin before 1907, but could date to the 17th century) is probably a peregrina x officinalis hybrid cultivar: full double, deep red flowers, large guard petals, narrow notched inner petals, carpels become visible with age, no side buds, medium height at 2-3 feet, early bloomer. A ancient cultivar also known as the 'Memorial Day Peony' and 'Old Double Crimson'.
