While the blossoms on this variety are enormous and stunning, they are so heavy that they are pulled down into the foliage facing the ground. Not a particularly good garden look, in my opinion. They do make lovely cut flowers.

"Paeonia suffruticosa 'Souvenir de Maxime Cornu', (4-DB-Y) Lutea hybrid Tree Peony KIN-KAKU , (Louis Henry, 1907), USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Medium height, full double, apricot, edged in dark pink, large 6-7 inch flowers, downward facing flowers, fragrant, late bloomer, Michigan Bloom Month 5.

Deeply lobed mid-green leaves. Cross of P.lutea x 'Ville de Saint-Denis'. AKA 'Jinkaku' ('Golden Temple of Nara') and 'Kinkaku' (Golden Pagoda). Planted in 2014, did not do well early 2015. No buds 2015. First bloom in 2017. Would do well planted on top of a wall, so the flowers could cascade over and be viewable."
