This is the first year I have grown this pepper. I purchased the seeds from Territorial Seed company, sprouted them 3-29-14 and they were ready to put in the ground 5-30-14. They set fruit 7-11-14. They have produced very well. They aren't particularly meaty, although, that could be a result of very little water this summer. I will try these beautiful Italian frying peppers again.

I was surprised to see this pepper do so well in a 12 inch container. My plant was loaded with peppers in a cool summer. The plants I grew were from seeds I saved. This could have added to the success. I saved seeds again. I am excited to see the next generation next year.

This pepper is one of the sweetest I have tasted. It is very prolific, which is good because they are very thin. They are great for snacking. The skin is not as crisp as others.

I wanted to try Jimmy Nardello peppers after I read about the sucess a fellow ATP gardener had with them. I must say they are mild and sweet -- and oh, so yummy -- when they are allowed to fully ripen to the red stage. I never did try any while they were still green.
All in all, a hit, but since I have to mail order plants and there are similar red frying pepper plants sold locally, I will probably not grow it again. If you grow your own from seeds or have easy access to plants, however, I do heartily recommend this one.
