Ornamental solitary, glaucous agave from high altitudes in northeastern Mexico. Rosettes may reach 3-4 feet wide. Leaves are wide, with nice curvature (concave on the upper surface, sometimes with wrinkles or waves).

This plant was originally collected and distributed under the name "Noah" in the late 19th century, then considered part of two other species, before being elevated to species status in 2002. It is found in northern Nuevo León, where it is called "noga" locally (presumably the name "Noah" is a corruption of this common name). Similar to A. havardiana and A. parrasana. A number of named cultivars (including variegates) exist.
