This was one of the apple varieties my dad grew while my parents had their 5 acre property in OH. Tart, tasty and juicy! It kept well in the fridge for 2 to 3 months.
He'd make excellent applesauce that he shared in some containers with the family and Mom and Dad's friends at church. He'd freeze some containers and bring them out to my sister's house in KY for the Thanksgiving Day gathering and it tasted fresh and good.
As with all the plants that he grew for the many years they had their home on the property, he took very good care of the apple trees and they rewarded him with good fruit and some bumper crop years!
