Great early producer of many 3 inch pods containing about 7 peas each. Nice flavor cooked or fresh.

Quick maturing. Pods are a decent size. Not very tolerant of heat, under stress before Sabre, Premium, Green Arrow, or Penelope. Under my conditions, a once over harvest and the vines are gone. Moderate yield. In fairness, when Burpee introduced this variety in 1949, it was specifically recommended for northern states.
