Snapdragon is a short-lived tender perennial that is usually grown as an annual. It is a larval host plant for the Common Buckeye Butterfly. In warmer US climates such as Florida, the Southwest, and along the Gulf Coast, it also serves as a host for the Tropical Buckeye Butterfly. Antirrhinum majus is native to the Mediterranean region.
