This is a hybrid species from a cross of S. cana x S. hypericifolia that must be two similar east Asian species that was done in Norway before 1884. This cultivar is more compact than the straight species. It is very similar to Spiraea thunbergii and Spiraea x arguta, that are the Garland Spireas. The leaves are tiny of about 1 inch long. The tiny white flowers in clusters bloom in April about 10 days before the similar two species mentioned above. It is offered by some conventional nurseries.
