I think my photo of the two fruits is this type of summer squash, more a vine than a bush form:
Summer Squash (Cucurbita pepo 'Vegetable Marrow'). It also resembles Grey Zucchini, but seems closer to summer squash in taste. It is a vigorous vine that grows quickly.
