Clone of Echeveria affinis (not a hybrid) which was distributed as ISI 269 in 1959. Collected by R. J. Taylor in Mexico. Leaves are dark brown to black in strong light (green color, especially on older leaves, is a sign of insufficient light) and flowers are scarlet. Compared to "Black Prince" (a hybrid with shaviana) the leaves are a different shape and both bracts and sepals are significantly less robust. Flowers in late summer to early fall. Offsets sparingly. Somewhat susceptible to mealy bugs.
