This species is native to Korea and China. It is similar to Betula ermanii. It forms a broad ovoid to rounded crown. It develops a good golden fall color. Its leaves are a little more than twice as long as wide and leaves have a straight leaf base, and the leaves look similar to Paper Birch in the USA. There is a whole variety of photos online of the bark that varies. It starts out as smooth and white or creamy, then gets cinnamon colored peelings, and eventually the bark looks similar to the 'Heritage' River Birch of the USA. This species does not tolerate drought. It is sold at some conventional nurseries in the United Kingdom and Europe.
