    These (mostly) greenhouse hybrids of two Madagascar Euphorbias, E. lophogona and E. milii (thus the name), are quite variable but generally known for having larger cyathia and leaves, and wider stems than the species E. milii (the "true" crown of thorns). Many or most of these hybrids do not have names.

    There are also scattered pictures of E. x lomi plants featured on the species entry for E. milii in the database:

    The name E. x lomi earns itself an entry in our database because this hybrid has also been found in nature, through collections by Werner Rauh, described as the "Heidelberger hybrids" on this page
