Of the 30+ daylily varieties I currently own, God Save the Queen is my absolute favorite. The petals are rounded and heavily ruffled, I even see some teeth (which I wasn't expecting in my colder zone and poor, heavy-clay soil). The blooms open nicely - flat and wide consistently. The color combinations and the richness of the purple hue really grab your eye. The only fault in this flower has been a little splotchiness of the coloration, but some of that can be attributed to inconsistent watering up til now. I would highly recommend this daylily to anyone who is looking for a good purple variety!
