"Paeonia 'Madame Butterfly', (3-JAP-PK) lactiflora cultivar Peony, (Franklin, 1933), USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Medium Height, Japanese type flower, rose pink guard petals & staminodes, midseason bloomer, Michigan Bloom Month 5c.

APS describes the color as rose pink, while G.H.Wild says magenta-purple guard petals and magenta staminodes. Most of the photos I have seen look to be pink."
