HVH: "Time For Magic is as close to a "double 5th Dimension" as there is, and makes a wonderful addition to the family of exotic hibiscus hybrids. This exotic hybrid is aptly named, as it has a story that is almost magical. The original Time For Magic seedling plant bloomed only once for hybridizer Tom Miller in 1998, it died shortly thereafter. Fortunately, he had sent a few pieces of wood to us at HVH of which two grafts took. These two plants thus became the source of every other Time For Magic plant in the world. This hybrid produces a well branched, upright, medium-sized bush and loads up with buds, just like its famous parent, Fifth Dimension. It also has similar coloration to 'Fifth Dimension' and shares the trait of opening with lots of orange tones, which fade to yellow over the course of the day. From its other parent, Magician's Hat, it appears to have inherited the form which you see here. During the several days they stay open, these 6-8" flowers change from an unusual combination of deep orange and gunmetal grey to yellow and white, sometimes creating the effect that the bush is putting out different colored blooms. It has won top awards at several Hibiscus Shows. Rare and highly desired by collectors, Time For Magic is a fascinating cultivar.

This exotic hybrid is aptly named as it has a story that is almost magical. This striking double was almost lost to the world a couple of years ago, but fortunately HVH had a thriving plant and, from that one, all that now exist anywhere in the world have come. This offspring of 'Fifth Dimension' and 'Magician's Hat' is unique in both form and color. During the several days they stay open these 8" flowers change from an unusual combination of deep orange and gunmetal grey to yellow and white, sometimes creating the effect that the bush is putting out different colored blooms. This past summer it won top awards at several Hibiscus Shows and is a candidate for the upcoming "Hibiscus Of The Year". Rare and highly desired by collectors, 'Time For Magic' is a fascinating cultivar. A very good bloomer, the flowers show themselves on a medium size attractive bush."
