A 1919 introduction from Morris Plant Farm. Plants are usually large but quite variable in both growth and color, ranging from green to dark blue-green. some plants form loose leafy heads late in the season but are not consistent. Often confused with the Cabbage Collard and may be an older, less improved version. The current Cabbage Collard is much more consistent in size , color, and growth pattern. Morris Heading is still widely available. I have grown it on several occasions, but there are many superior collards.
