This is a bush purple podded snap bean. Pods are very slender and often referred to as a filet type bean. Upright growth with pods set at the top of the plants for easy harvest. Vines and blossoms are visually attractive. Tends to yield in small increments similar to the old Commodore. I prefer a bush bean that set a prolific first crop and then gets out of the way. Amethyst does have an extended harvest window which may be beneficial to a home gardener. I prefer Purple Queen or Royal Burgandy in this slot.
