Peony 'Inspecteur Lavergne' (n-spek-ter'-la-vairn) (Doriat, 1924) is a lactiflora cultivar: double, crimson red flowers with a tint of brown, large guard petals with frilled petals in the center (bomb like), long straight stems, and midseason bloomer. Looks somewhat like 'Felix Crousse'. Introduced by the firm Doriat & Son & Debatene, France. Doriat introduced around 50 peonies.
