'Northwood' was selected from a local seedling population near Floodwood in northern Minnesota by Doctor Leon Snyder and introduced into the trade by the University of Minnesota. Its fall color is more orange-red. It is best used up in USDA Zones 3 to 5. Lake County Nursery in Perry in northern Ohio grows a good number for sale.
